Abstract

446,807. Plate racks. VIDAL, P. C., 606, Calle Cortes, Barcelona, Spain. Oct. 29, 1935, No. 29808. [Class 28 (ii)] A draining-rack for plates &c. comprises coil spring supports 4, 5 secured to or formed integrally with side members 2, 3, pivoted in brackets 7 secured to the base 1, in such manner that they may be folded inwardly for stowage, or opened, to the extent permitted by bent ends 6 of the members 2, 3, to receive the platen. The base 1 comprises a metal sheet bent at 8 into trough form, the feet 9, 10 being arranged to tilt the trough to facilitate drainage. The bottom of the trough is corrugated, or a corrugated strip 11 is applied thereto, to prevent the plates from slipping. In a modification, the springs are secured between members pivoted on axes which run transversely across the ends of the trough, strut members being provided to maintain the pivoted members in their spring-tensioning positions when the rack is in use. Locking- means for the struts are provided, which when released, allow the struts to fold down upon the base, the springs then being relaxed. The springs are transversely adjustable on the pivoted members to accommodate plates of different sizes.
