Abstract
Causticized starch for asbestos pulp, is prepared by suspending 25 lbs. of starch in 500 lbs. of water, stirring, and adding 21 lbs. of a 14 DEG B<\>ae. solution of caustic soda; after the material has become transparent, an equal volume of water is added.
