Abstract
433,032. Finishing fabrics. SINGER MANUFACTURING CO., Elizabeth, New Jersey, U.S.A. April 15, 1935, No. 11551. Convention date, June 8, 1934. [Class 42 (i)] Open-work effects, producing.-In a threadwithdrawing machine the presser foot 48 is pivoted in a frame 46 itself pivoted on the presser bar 43 so that it is universally tiltable relatively to the bar 43. The frame 46 also carries two independently adjustable blocks 51 to which are pivoted fingers 55 the lower ends of these passing through a hole 58 in the foot 48 and being roughened to grip the work. The piercer bar 8 carries a roller 15 which travels between the fingers 55 and in its descent separates the fingers against the action of springs 60 and stretches the work laterally of the line of feed.
