[Class 78 (i)] A lowering-device comprises an endlessbelt conveyer 1 having horizontal and verti. cal runs. Flaps 3 having offset arms 5 carrying rollers 6 are pivoted to the conveyer about axles 4 and lie flat on the horizontal run where the goods such as coal are loaded thereon. Guides 7 coact with the rollers to tilt the flaps outward as the direction of the conveyer changes from horizontal to vertical and thus form pockets in which the goods are received and lowered. In the form shown in Fig. 2 the guides 14, 15 are arranged on the outside of the bend of the conveyer and the flaps are pivoted about rear axles 11.
