Abstract

430,058. Knitting. NEBEL, M., 20, M³nchner Strasse, Chemnitz, Germany. May 25, 1934, Nos. 15643, 15644, 15645, 15646, and 15647. Convention dates, May 27, 1933, Aug. 18, 1933, Aug. 26, 1933, Feb. 10, 1934, and Feb. 14, 1934. [Class 74 (ii)] Relates to the method of separation of the plush and ground threads in the knitting of plush fabric upon a circular machine. Each sinker S is provided with a rib 5 which separates the threads at a level above that at which the plush loops are sunk. The throat 4 for the plush thread 27 is arranged substantially vertically above the throat 9 for the ground thread 28. The sinkers have butts for engagement with the sinker cams and pattern butts at their rear edges for actuation by pattern cams. The upper edge 6 of the sinker may be stepped so that by controlling the radial position of the sinker, the length of plush loop sunk can be varied. The vertical section through the rib is preferably of greatest height at the plush throat, and the rear edge of the thread may incline upward and rearwardly, as shown, or may incline forwardly and upwardly. As shown in Fig. 26, a thread guide plate 174 may be arranged below the main guide 29 to feed the ground thread 28 at a point just above and in front of the point of the nib 5 of a sinker about to move into separating and sinking position. The plush thread 27 is led over a guiding bar 180. The plate 174 is moved into feeding position during both directions of movement of the needle cylinder and sinkers in reciprocating, e.g. for heel and toe work. Specification 391,724 is referred to.
