Abstract

436,829. Spray-producers. PEYCRU, L., 3, Rue des Favorites, Paris. Dec. 12, 1934, Nos. 35723 /34 and 433 /35. Convention dates, Dec. 13, 1933 and Dec. 10, 1934. [Class 69 (iii)] [See also Group XI] Apparatus for spraying liquids such as heavy oils which may be used without preheating, comprises a plurality of flexible blades 17, Fig. 1, forming a comb-like member which dips into liquid in a chamber 10, and are vibrated by engaging a cam 20, thus atomizing liquid held between the blades and ejecting it in a direction at right angles to the plane of rotation of the comb, such liquid as is thrown out by centrifugal force strikes against the wall and is returned to the supply. Compressed air is admitted to a regulable conduit 21, part of which is led to a Venturi tube 24 where it mixes with a charge of fuel drawn through a passage 27 and part passes through the regulable opening 26 to the chamber 10. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 5, the blades 17 are wedge shaped and the chamber is divided into two compartments by a disc 33 which may be fixed or secured to the driving shaft, the cam is replaced by a roller 34 mounted on an adjustable spring and a second current of air is admitted through a passage 38 coaxial with the outlet.
