Abstract
435,828. Furnace doors and fronts. BENNIS, A. W., Bennis Works, Highfield Road, Little Hulton, near Bolton. July 14, 1934, No. 20654. [Class 51 (i)] In a steam generator furnace door having an inner baffle, the space between the door and its baffle is supplied with cooling air from a port in a baffler casing at the side of the door, the door having a part which moves with it to close the port when the door is opened. The door A, hinged at F, has a spaced inner baffle comprising a series of parallel adjustable plates B which overlap to form horizontal air outlets C. The space D between the door and its baffle is closed at the top and bottom and at the sides except for ports E adapted, in the closed position of the door, to register with ports K formed in baffler casings J at the sides of the door. When the door is opened the ports K are closed by side wings L carried by the door.
