[Class 52 (ii)] [See also Group XXII] A bracket for use in securing rails &c. without mortising or bracing comprises a piece of flat metal cut and folded to form an open-topped rectangular socket D, E, with external flanges C drilled for nails or screws. The blank may be shaped to form a right-angled joint, Fig. 2, or an acute-angled joint, Fig. 4.
