Abstract

434,211. Heating liquids. HOBDELL, W. F., 9, Bentinck Mansions, Bentinck Street, Cavendish Square, London. Feb. 28, 1934, No. 6530. [Class 64 (i)] Liquor, such as bleaching liquor used in the textile industry, is heated during circulation by a pump d from a boiler a through several straight tubes b connected in series and each having its own heating jacket c. The liquor flows from and to the boiler by pipes e, f, the latter terminating near the top below a curved baffle g. Steam or hot water is passed through the jackets c which are connected at a in countercurrent to the liquor in the tubes. The ends of the jackets may be flared out as at c3 to allow for expansion. The pipes e, f may also be jacketed.
