Abstract

426,213. Hair pins. LONG, F. E. DE, Washingtonville, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Oct. 11, 1933, No. 28126. [Class 131] A hair pin consists of a length of springy material bent to provide a rounded head 3 and substantially coplanar prongs 4 having inwardly curved corresponding portions 10 which are bent in opposite directions from the plane of the prongs and have their centre portions lying spaced from each other in a line extending at right angles to the plane of the prongs. When thrust into the hair, the pin turns on its longitudinal axis when the hair passes between the portions 10, and thus becomes securely anchored in the hair. Specification 23017/96, [Class 131], is referred to.
