424,969. Screw propellers. FRIEDENTHAL, F., 41, Mulgrave Avenue, Ashtonon-Ribble, Lancashire, MURRAY, G. I., 16, Devonshire Road, Davonport Park, Stockport, and TURNER, W., 44, St. George's Street, Eccles, near Manchester. Aug. 30, 1933, No. 24022. [Class 114] Those portions of the blades where erosion occurs are protected by a covering 3 of rubber, rubber compound or mixture or a synthetic resin compound. The blade portions are made as smooth as is mechanically possible, holes being filled in, and the covering material rolled or pressed on to the blade to make " optical contact" therewith ; the covering when of rubber is then vulcanized. The blades may be recessed to receive the covering, which may be carried around the edge of the blade on to the other face. The edges of the covering may be tapered off to merge into the blade. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1793 /88, 3071 /92, and 23580 /97, [all in Class 114].
