Abstract
<PICT:0413800/III/1> The discharge electrodes of electrical precipitation apparatus consist of rods of round, square or other regular cross-section having a progressively varying cross-sectional area, either regularly or in steps. The collecting electrodes may be of the tubular, flue or plate type. The Figure shows a tubular collecting electrode a having a discharge electrode in three sections b1, b2, b3 of decreasing diameter. A thicker section b4 is arranged at the point which the thinnest section b3 passes out of the tube to prevent flash-overs at the end of the collecting electrode.
