Abstract

413,601. Clearing yarns. STUBBS, Ltd., J., and STUBBS, M. E., Mill Street Works, Ancoats, Manchester. Feb. 28, 1934, No. 6427. [Class 120 (ii).] In a clearer for yarn-winding machines of the kind consisting of two superposed discs between which the yarn passes, the lower disc being apertured for the escape of waste matters, the upper disc 12 is maintained in position on a central stud 7 and the lower disc 11 has a resilient support which rotates with it to throw off any of the waste matters accumulating thereon. As shown the upper disc is loosely mounted on the stud 7 and the lower disc is supported by a spiral spring 9 secured to the disc 11 and bearing on a bevelled collar 8 on the stud ; the stud 7 is fixed in a bracket 5. In modifications the stud may be rotatable with the upper disc fixed thereon or the lower disc and spring may be fixed to the rotatable stud with the upper disc free thereon.
