Abstract
417,004. Loom healds. WILSON, A., and TILLOTSON, J., New Close Shed, Silsden, near Keighley, Yorkshire. June 14, 1933, No. 16938. [Class 142 (i).] The longitudinal heald supporting bars a, a<1> of a heald frame are supported by hooks or eyebolts f, one or more of which are yieldingly mounted in the usual wooden staves b, b<1>, each resiliently mounted bolt passing wholly or partly through the appropriate stave and being provided with a nut g, Figs. 1 and 3, for engagement with a spiral spring k mounted within a circular aperture h. In a modified construction the spiral spring is replaced by a blade spring which is accommodated within a slot in the upper or lower face of the stave. Fig. 4 shows a further modification in which a spring k<1> is anchored to the stave by a staple m and at the other end is formed with a loop 4<a> for engagement with a hook or projection on the member f.
