Abstract

416,457. Condensers. JUDELL, K., 6, Uhlandstrasse, Charlottenburg, Berlin. Feb. 1, 1934, No. 3392. [Class 38 (ii).] A variable multiple condenser has all the units of one member, i.e. the fixed or the moving member, formed simultaneously in a mould by casting or moulding under pressure, the relatively movable members of the condenser being mechanically interconnected so that the elements of the member move in parallel planes. The example, Fig. 1, shows a pair of co-operating members each comprising two units. The elements are in the form of tapered pins 10, 11 cast in one with base plates 6, 7, co-operating with blocks 14, 15 and with corresponding holes. The members comprising the blocks 14, 15 is arranged to slide in a frame 1 on ball bearings 13, being actuated by a screw 16. The units 6, 7 which to be electrically separate are east together with a web 19 which is severed after securing in the frame. Alternatively the units 6, 7 may be cast in a die which contains the insulating mounting plates 2, 3. The frame 1 forms a screen and screens may also be fitted between the units. In the example, Fig. 3, the co-operating elements are in the form of ribs 29 and slots 35 in a block 24 and the relative motion is obtained through pivoted side stays 30, 33.
