[Class 52 (ii).] In a vehicle seat having the back rest b detachable from the seat a to permit the latter to be used as part of a bed, the back rest b is carried on a support f on or adjacent to the seat by means of pivot pins d having flats d<1> which permit their insertion in or withdrawal from their bearings h through slots g. The detached back rest b, Fig. 4, is intended to be put in the place of the rear seat cushion j of the vehicle, and the cushion j placed in the space between the two seats to form a bed.
