Abstract
403,196. Inductances. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and OLIVER, D. A., c /o General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. Sept. 19, 1932, No. 26000. [Class 37.] A mechanical filter for removing ripple from rectified alternating current comprises an iron core member 1 of three sides and a light bar 2 forming the fourth side which oscillates approximately at the frequency of the ripple. The core member 1 is surrounded by a coil 4 through which the current passes and the whole is enclosed in a sound absorbing medium. Two bars may be mounted and tuned to the higher and lower limits of the ripple frequency respectively.
