Abstract
An abrasive wheel for treating mouldings &c. of fibre board or wood has abrasive material applied to sections of its rim, the abrasive grit being spread upon, or mixed with bonding-material comprising a mixture of 40 to 50 parts by weight of precipitated chalk, 25 to 30 parts of zinc oxide, 10 to 15 parts of manganese dioxide and 10 to 15 parts of dry casein, to which is added sodium silicate of 84 degrees T. in sufficient quantity to form a cementing mass. According to the Provisional Specification, the bonding-material may comprise four parts in volume of soluble glass, one of metallic (lead, zinc or manganese) oxide and one of calcium carbonate; the proportions may be varied.
