Abstract
401,161. Strain-taking devices for flexible leads. BRITISH BRASS FITTINGS, Ltd. and SPERRYN, G. N., Moorsom Street Works, Birmingham. Feb. 28, 1933, No. 6025. [Class 38 (i).] Plug-and-socket coupling-members comprising a two-part body 6, 7, are provided with a cord-gripping screw 11 with an enlarged head 12, disposed in an aperture separate from that through which the conductor cord 9 enters and operable from the exterior to clamp the cord or the individual conductors against the opposite wall of the body. As applied to a wall-plug, Fig. 5, in which the cord 26 enters at the side, the screw 34 clamps the conductors against a projection 33 on the opposite wall and may be provided with a pressure plate 35 as an alternative to an enlarged head. The part against which the conductors are clamped may be serrated or ribbed.
