Abstract
400,137. Moving displays. BINGER (SALES AIDS), Ltd., O. D. and BINGER, C. L., 24, Northdown Street, King's Cross, London. June 13, 1933, No. 16836. [Class 3 (i).] A gyrating platform 14 carrying a display figure &c. and actuated by the engagement of a rotating pinion 11 on a fixed axis with a curved closed rack 12 below the platform, rides over a plate 4 which is of opalescent, translucent, or like non-translucent material. Lamps 23 below the plate 4 may be lit continuously, or in succession to produce a colourchanging lighting effect. The changing effect may alternatively be produced by a disc colour filter rotating with the spindle 8 carrying the pinion 11, and radial or like arms may carry an object the shadow of which is thrown on the plate 4. The display figures &c. are screwed on to interchangeable pegs fixed into the platform 14, and the rack 12 is formed of perpendicular teeth integral with a casting 13 forming the base of the platform 14. The plate 4 may be rendered light-diffusing by spraying its under surface with cellulose paint, which may be multicoloured. The walls 3 may also be translucent.
