Abstract
409,250. Delivering liquids by gas pressure. OSBORN, H., Kemdent Works, Denmark Road, Ealing, London. Dec. 12, 1933, No. 34947. [Class 102 (ii).] An appliance for cleansing the mouth and teeth comprises a vessel a, for example, of artificial resin, having a screw-in base b and enclosing at its upper end a valve n controlling the discharge of liquid through a lateral passage g and a nipple h for a screw - on nozzle. The vessel or its base is provided internally with a partition o forming a recess into which is placed a tablet or the like p of effervescent mouth-wash material, the gas generated by which, on contact with the water in the vessel, is used to expel the water when the valve is opened. The valve n is enclosed in a valve chamber e and has a resilient pad r resting on a seating q on a valve body k. The valve spindle t carries a knob m operated by a lever i and slidable in a recess u in the body k. The recess u contains a spring w and a resilient sleeve v embracing the spindle t.
