Abstract
408,876. Mixing fluids in flow. CORDEBAS, J. N., Beaumont, Yonne, France. Sept. 21, 1933, No. 26048. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1932. [Class 86.] Fluid streams are mixed by passing one fluid along an annular channel into which another fluid is projected from a concentric channel, the mixture thus formed then passing to a chamber of larger cross section to effect a reduction in pressure, jets of at least one additional fluid being supplied in such a manner as to induce a whirling motion in the chamber. One of the fluids, which may be gaseous or liquid, is supplied along the annular channel 8 concentric with a channel through which another of the fluids is supplied, being projected into the first through an adjustable gap 10. The mixture then enters the enlarged chamber 20 where it is subjected to jets of a third liquid supplied from a channel 2 through orifices 23 disposed so as to induce a whirling motion. The mixture leaves by an annular opening 24. A partition 25 may be furnished in the bore of the central member and a fourth fluid supplied from the opposite end 17. A fifth fluid may be supplied by an annular pipe 29 leading into the chamber 20 by bores 30.
