Abstract
408,494. Glass annealing leers. UNITED GLASS BOTTLE MANUFACTURERS, Ltd., and MOORSHEAD, W. A., 40, Norfolk Street, Strand, London. Aug. 11, 1933, No. 22476. [Class 51 (ii).] Glassware to be annealed is subjected to the direct action of a temperature controlling medium, such as air passing through the leer tunnel in counter-current with the ware, and under the joint control of a blower or other supply means b at the discharge end, and of a regulatable power-operated suction-device d at or near the hot end of the leer, or at the junction of the annealing and cooling sections. In the arrangement shown the two fans are connected by the conduit g and the air withdrawn by the fan d can be returned to the fan b for recirculation, or passed to exhaust through the pipe h. Fresh air is drawn into the system through the connection f.
