Abstract

407,841. Safety valves. STEVENS, A. H., 5, Quality Court, Chancery Lane, London.- (Crosby Steam Gage & Valve Co.; 38, Central Street, Boston, U.S.A.) May 25, 1933, No. 15151. [Class 135.] The spring 45 is spaced from the valve member 20 by an open frame 54 having radiating fins 60, through which any steam escaping through the loose bushing 66 is outwardly deflected by a collar 70 secured to the elongated valvestem 42. The valve may be actuated manually by a lever 90 which is pivoted at 92 and engages a lever 82 pivoted at 84 and engaging a collar 88 at the top of the valve-stem. Control of the pressures of opening and reseating is attained by the adjustable rings 26, 28 threaded on the throat-tube 14 and on the guide 24 respectively.
