Abstract
407,056. Vertical steam boilers. DANKS (NETHERTON), Ltd., H. & T., and DANKS, J. A., Halesowen Road, Netherton, Dudley, Worcestershire. Sept. 9, 1932, No. 25202. [Class 123 (ii).] The furnace gases from the firebox 3 are directed across vertical water tubes 12 in an enlarged combustion chamber 8 above the firebox bv a baffle in the centre of the chamber. The baffle 15, Fig. 1, is of block form and the gases flow around it to an outlet flue 14 at the top of the combustion chamber. In a modification, the baffle 19, Fig. 2, is of C-form and the gases first flow into the baffle and then around it before escaping through a flue 17 at the side of the combustion chamber.
