Abstract
405,383. Crushers with vibrating jaws. WINGET, Ltd., The Cape, Warwick, and MARTINEZ, H., 4, Stephendale Terrace, St. Peters, Newcastle-on-Tyne. Sept. 15, 1932, No. 25706. [Class 59.] In a jawcrusher in which the crushing jaw is operated by an eccentric, the operative stroke being due to the co-action of the rear of the jaw with an abutment on the body of the crusher, the abutment comprises a detachable supporting member adapted to break under abnormal pressure. As shown the vibrating jaw h is mounted on an eccentric g passing through the upper end of the jaw the lower end bearing against a roller k through a wedge block j. The roller k is mounted in a sliding block m adjustable toward the jaw by a wedge p. The moving jaw is retained against the roller by a spring-controlled rod r. The wedge j may be reversed and may be replaced by a wedge of a different taper. The block m is adapted to collapse under abnormal stresses and the position of the roller and wedge may be interchanged.
