Abstract
399,803. Shaving-stick holders. FARNWORTH, R., Orient Mills, Brandwood Street, Bolton. Feb. 29, 1932, No. 5976. [Class 18.] A case 2 for a soap stick has a screw thread 2a formed on its inner surface to receive and mesh with a corresponding thread 3a on the outer surface of a member 3, mounted within the case and formed with an opening specially shaped to receive the stick of soap, without permitting rotation thereof, while a cap 5 with a similarly shaped opening fits over the top of the soap stick and engages a flange 2c on the outer surface of the case, so that rotation of the case 2 while the cap 5 is held causes the soap stick to emerge from its casing. Preferably the soap stick is hexagonal but it may be cylindrical and have longitudinal grooves to engage projections on the members 3, 5. The lower end of the member 5 is slotted so that it may be sprung over the ridge 2c which then engages in an internal channel on the member 5. The member 5 may have a milled surface at the top and the case 2 a milled surface at the bottom to facilitate rotation. A cap may fit over the member 5 and the open end of the case 2 and may be fitted to the base of the case 2 when the device is to be used. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 120,973 and 210,681, [both in Class 18, Boxes &c.].
