Abstract
396,189. Cooking-stoves. GAREIS, O. and GAREIS, A., 8, Schillerstrasse, Charlottenburg, Berlin. May 11, 1932, No. 13629. Convention date, May 11, 1931. [Class 126.] Ovens; heat-distributers; supports for stove bodies.-In an apparatus for cooking, or for preserving food by heating in jars, of the type comprising a casing or oven a having a large opening f at the bottom so that it may be heated by standing it over a burner, and provided also with a heat-distributer or baffle, exchangeable heat-distributers suitable for different purposes are shown. The distributer e shown in position in Fig. 2 and separately in Fig. 3 comprises a plate with a covered dished central portion and surrounding apertures k. That shown in Fig. 5 comprises inclined lower walls and a flat top, the gases passing up round the edges into the casing. In both cases the distributer provides an air cushion beneath the utensil. The distributers are removably supported on lugs b on the sides of the chamber. The top of the cooking-space is closed by a perforated plate n adjustable in height on supports c. The utensil may stand on the distributer, or on a shelf above it. The supporting legs m are provided with a number of perforations so that they may be attached by screws at adjustable heights to the casing.
