Abstract

389,986. Internally-fired hot-water boilers. JACKSON, H. B., Carol Green, Collingham Bridge, near Leeds. March 19, 1932, No. 8188. [Class 64 (i).] In a water-heater comprising inner and outer cylinders 1, 2 forming between them a narrow waterway consisting of a cylindrical annulus containing a cone 1x, the heating gases circulate within cylinder 1 as well as around or in contact with cylinder 2. The two cylinders are secured together by a nut 3x internally and externally threaded. The heated water rises through pipe 6 to an expansion chamber 7 provided with a tap 8. The outer water space 13 may be omitted. Cylinder 1 may extend above the water level and have a removable top on which chamber 7 is mounted the outlet pipe 6 being then detachably secured thereto by a nut. A flue 15 is provided as an outlet from cylinder 1.
