Abstract
373,905. Watermarked paper. NATIONAL BANK OF HUNGARY, 8, Szabadsag-tÚr, and HEINRICH, F. VON, 13, Mark¾-Utca, both in Budapest. Oct. 12, 1931, No. 28310. Convention date, Oct. 20, 1930. [Class 96.] Watermarks are produced in paper by rendering parts of the paper-forming surfaces which may be of textile fabrics, paper, artificial leather, filter plates &c. of charcoal, hard rubber, earthenware, &c., or metal &c. differently permeable to water in certain places corresponding to the design. This may be effected by impression with materials insoluble in water, by photographic printing methods with gelatine, albumin, &c., or by galvanic methods, etching or drawing by hand &c., smaller quantities of fibre &c. being deposited and thinner paper produced at the parts of less permeability. Polychrome watermark papers may be produced from separate sheets made from coloured fibres with corresponding filters couched on a collector in register or by applying coloured stuffs in succession to a very thin uniformly permeable surface whilst at each pouring a suction surface of non-uniform permeability is brought underneath the uniformly permeable surface.
