The roll R<1> can be adjusted vertically by screws L, L<1> in a block A which can be moved about its pivot A<1> by screws &c. T<5>. V<2> to adjust the roll R<1> to and from the roll D. The blocks I are pressed against the roll R<1> by springs and adjustable fulcra 01 mounted in a frame O which can be rotated about an axis E<1> to lift the blocks I by means of a bar P on the frame and hooks I<5> on the blocks. The blocks I are fitted with electric heaters Y. The cloth may have been previously shrunk laterally by moistening and tensioning it longitudinally. Specification 359,759 is referred to.
