Abstract

363,167. Reciprocating pumps. PLOTTNER, W., 27, Nurnbergerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. Jan. 13, 1931, No. 1127. [Class 102 (i).]. A pump for effecting hydraulic feeding movement in machine tools comprises a cylinder formed in a block 3 mounted to rotate about the axis of a hollow shaft 2 forming the delivery pipe. The plunger 8 is pressed by a spring 9 against the curved surface of a lever 10 in contact with the actuating cam 14. The curved surface of the lever is shaped to form an arc of a circle about the axis of the shaft 2 when the lever is in mid-position. The stroke is varied by angularly moving the block 3 by. the worm 5. The pump is submerged in the suction vessel and air is removed through passages 18, 19 in the plunger when they coincide, with a port 20 in the cylinder.
