Abstract

366,329. Reversing. SULZER FR’RES S 0 C . ANON., Winterthur, Switzerland. March 20, 1931, No. 8629. Convention date, April 12, 1930.. [Class 7 (v).] Cam gear for operating the fuel-pump piston 7 of a reversible engine, which is constrained to move only in the direction of its length, comprises a cam 2 co-operating with a roller 8 and cams 3, 4 adapted to co-operate with rollers 9, 10. The cams are fast on a shaft 1 and the rollers are carried by a holder 5 pivoted at 14 to the piston 7. The holder is connected to a reversing shaft to bring either the roller 8 or the rollers 9, 10 into contact with the respective cams according to the direction of rotation of the engine. This device avoids one-sided loading of the driving elements.
