356,911. Radiators for motor vehicles. CHEYLESMORE SHEET METAL CO., Ltd., Collingwood Road, Coventry, and WATSON, S. G., The Hollies, Station Road, Balsall, Warwickshire. Aug. 18, 1930, No. 24632. [Class 29.] A housing in which the radiator proper is removably mounted comprises a length of spring strip steel a bent to the contour of the radiator and having its free ends c brought together to clamp it around the radiator by bolts passing through lugs e formed on the strip or on plates f spot-welded to the strip. A thick plate g is mounted on the base portion of the strip to provide a rigid attachment to the vehicle by bolts g<1>. The side portions of the strip may be inwardly flanged or provided with flanged strips a<5> to overlap the edges of the radiator, and may be flanged outwardly or have flanged strips a<2> secured thereto to provide means for attachment of the ornamental surround for the radiator. The outer front flanges a<6> may be slotted as at a<3> to receive the bolts on the surround, and may be stiffened by diagonal stays a'.
