Abstract
356,219. Electric grills and hot plates. THOMPSON, S., 44, Parsonage Lane, Enfield, Middlesex. June 4, 1930, No. 17311. Addition to 335,540, [Class 39 (iii), Heating by electricity]. [Class 39 (iii).] The two contact fingers of a heating-element for a grill, hot-plate, &c., constructed as described in the parent Specification, are arranged at the same end of the element. Fig. 1 shows such an element with one of the contact fingers 6 connected directly to one end of the resistance wire 7 and the other connected to the other end of the wire 7 by a wire 8 passing axially through the coil. The two fingers are mounted in a single contact box 10 which supports one end of the element, the other being supported on a plate 11. A reflector 16 or 16a is mounted below the elements. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which each element contains two resistance wires 12, 13 connected at one end to the contact fingers and at the other to each other. The element may be flat-topped.
