348,079. Drawing fibrous material. GMINDER, E., 26, Gustav Wernerstrasse, Reutlingen, Germany. Feb. 6, 1930, No. 4074. [Class 120 (ii).] In a drawing method for producing high drafts the band of textile fibre is given a false twist between two successive pull-through drawing operations each pull-through drawing set comprising feeding rollers c and drawing rollers e with an intermediate non-loaded retaining device which allows the fibres to be pulled therethrough by the drawing rollers which are spaced therefrom a distance less than the length of the staple. As shown, the retaining device comprises a fluted top roller g co-operating with a porcupine roller h. When drawing long stapled fibres, e.g., bast fibres, the fibre band may be caused to pass around the first feeding roller of each set by guide rollers.
