Abstract
346,935. Insulators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Robertson, J. C.; Box 519, Annapolis, Maryland, U.S.A.) March 11, 1930, No. 7908. Convention date, March 12, 1929. [Class 36.] A suspension insulator comprises a dielectric body 1 with a neck portion 2 carrying a metal cap 3 and formed with a recess 4 for a pin 5 having a head 6 of stepped formation. The wall of the recess 4 is roughened by sanding, or by projections 7. In order to maintain the pin 5 centred in the recess, a disc 9, formed with outstanding lugs 10, Fig. 4, is placed upon the pinhead 6, and preferably alternate lugs 10a, Fig. 3, are bent downwards to engage the end step on the pin 5. The remaining lugs 10b engage the recess wall when the pin 5 is inserted in the recess 4. A cork disc 11 may be mounted on the end of the pinhead to form a cushion. Specifications 152,345 and 244,459, [both in Class 36, Electricity, Conducting &c.], are referred to.
