344,156. Worm and worm wheel gearing. PERRY, E. J., 68, Heath Mill Lane, Birmingham. Jan. 29, 1930, No. 3000. [Class 80 (i).] A gramophone turntable spindle which is driven by a flexible shaft through worm and worm-wheel gearing is eccentrically mounted so as to permit adjustment of the worm-wheel relatively to the worm. As shown, a worm k on a shaft l driven from a kinematograph projector gears with a wheel j on the turntable spindle b. The worm may have a five-start thread and the worm-wheel 216 teeth. The bearings m, n, for the spindle b are carried by a sleeve o mounted eccentrically in a bracket e so that rotary movement of the sleeve adjusts the wheel j in relation to the worm k.
