339,932. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges., (Assignees of Deutsche Gold und Silberscheideanstalt vorm. Roessler). Sept. 29. 1928, [Convention date]. Divided on 319,794. Dinitro- and diamino-pyracridones.-By the nitration of pyracridone, a dinitro compound is produced, which on reduction yields the corresponding diamino compound. The products are useful therapeutically. Examples are given of the nitration of pyracridone using a mixture of nitric and sulphuric acids as nitrating agent and of the reduction of the product with stannous chloride and hydrochloric acid.
