Abstract

339,311. Kork-N-Seal, Ltd., (Williams, G. A.). Sept. 5, 1929. Plug stoppers, bayonet-joint. - Relates to bayonet-joint stoppers of the type in which relative rotation of the closure to the vessel gives a corresponding axial movement and in which the closure member has a central recess and packing-washer. According to the invention the vessel has an inwardly re-entrant end 3, and the closure member conforms thereto in shape, and is provided with inclined ears 8 which co-operate with lugs on the part 3 to compress a gasket 6 and close the vessel 2. Alternatively the ears 8 may co-operate with inclined lugs on the part 3, the inclination of the lugs providing the necessary axial movement of the closure.
