Abstract

338,561. Kok, M. de. Aug. 21, 1929. Spores, securing and adjusting; hubs.-Wire spokes 1 have beaded outer ends 3 seated in the rim base, the inner ends being formed with laterally-projecting heads 12 to engage recesses 10 in flanges 4, 5 which are spaced, to tension the spokes, by means of the hub barrel 6. The latter may engage in recesses 7, or grooves, in the spoke flanges 4, 5, and the interengaging parts may be shaped to prevent relative rotation. The inner ends of the spokes are seated in grooves 11 leading from the recesses 10, alternate spokes being arranged with the heads 12 oppositely-directed to permit crossing of the spokes. In a modification, the heads 12 are eyeletted and secured by bolts and nuts.
