Abstract
338,028. Lorenz Akt.-Ges., C. Jan. 8, 1929, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.-Choke coils which are arranged in the electrode leads of an electron discharge device are wound on supports fused to the glass pinch. In a short-wave generator, Fig. 1, choke coils Dr1, Dr2 are wound on glass supports T1, T2, and are connected respectively in the leads for the grid G and the anode A. High-frequency oscillations are passed on to the aerial D by leads St5, St6, between which there is connected a condenser C consisting of a small metal pipe and a pin separated by mica. The electrodes may be directly supported by the choke coils or by the supports therefor. In a modification, Fig. 2, an additional choke Dr3 is wound on a support T3 and is arranged in a filament lead. Communication may be effected with secrecy between a main station, which is equipped with a number of tubes for different wave-lengths, and one of a number of subsidiary stations provided only with tubes suitable for their respective wave-lengths. Slight difference in tubes due to manufacture may be corrected by arranging the capacity of the aerial so that a slight alteration of the wavelength may be effected. A reflecting arrangement consisting, for example, of a mirror, may be secured to a holder into which the tube is adapted to be plugged; the distance between the aerial and the reflector will then depend upon the length of the tube.
