Clips and holders for cables and conductor. - A cable cleat comprises clamping g plates bolted together, the clamping surfaces being formed on parallel ribs standing out from the plates and spaced apart in the direction of the run of the cable, the ribs being so arranged that those on one plate can pass behind or between those of the other plate as the plates are drawn together to grip the cable. The ribs cooperate to form groups of relatively inclined plane surfaces which form apertures for the cable to pass, the apertures gripping the cable when the plates are drawn together. In the embodiment, the lower plate 1 is formed with ribs 2. 3 at one end, and with ribs 4, 5 at the other end, each rib having a horizontal face 6 and an inclined face 7. Ribs 8, 9, 10, each with a horizontal face 11 and an inclined face 12, are also formed on the plate 1. A space 13 separates the ribs 2, 3 and a space 14 the ribs 4, 5. End spaces 15 are also formed. The ribs 8, 9, 10 are separated by spaces 16, and the inclined faces 7, 12 each make an angle of 45‹ with the surface of the lower plate 1. The upper plate 16 is formed with ribs 17. 18, 19 at one end, and with ribs 20, 21, 22 at the other end, each rib having a horizontal face 23 and an inclined face 24. The plate 16 also has ribs 25, each with a horizontal face 26 and inclined faces 27, the notches formed by adjacent inclined faces 24, 27 having an angle of 90‹. End spaces 28, 29 are formed by the ribs. When the plates 1, 16 are placed together, the horizontal surfaces 23, 26 of the plate 16 rest on the plate 1, and the ribs on one plate engage in the spaces of the other plate. When a cable is placed in position, it is gripped between the inclined faces 7, 27, 12, 24. A screw 32, passed through holes 30, 31 in the plates, secures the plates together.
