Valve gear.-In an engine having sleeve valves 13 which are given a combined oscillating and reciprocating movement by means of links 18 connected to ball-shaped cranks 17 on a valve shaft B, the shaft is fitted with counterweights D, E for balancing the links 18. The weights are preferably at the ends of the shaft and at 180‹ to each other. The shaft is mounted in bearings 24 - - 27.
