Abstract

328,405. Madden, G., and Hayes, J. R. S. March 26, 1929. Folding vehicles.-In folding hand-trucks of the kind comprising fixed sides to which a base is hinged consisting of two portions hinged together the wheels are mounted on stub axles which are supported at their outer ends by stay means connected to the truck. As shown the base comprises members 9 hinged to the fixed side members 7 at 8 and to each other at 10 so that they fold upwardly. Brackets 12 are secured to the sides 7 and are provided with pivoted links 15 on vertical axes as shown. One or more wheels 19 may be mounted on each side on stub axles and the outer ends of the stub axles are supported by stay means such as members 20 connected to the vehicle spring arrangements being provided if desired. Means may be provided for retaining the truck &c. in its open or 'closed position.
