Waist bands; belts and girdles; special materials for wearing-apparel.-An elastic band for garments, more particularly applicable to waist bands, comprises a doubled layer 10 of stockinette or other knitted or loosely woven material capable of stretching longitudinally, said layer being coated with indiarubber on the faces in contact. The double layer may be formed at one edge with a terminal roll and at the other remains bifurcated so as to leave an appreciable fork to embrace the material of the garment to which it may be stitched at 13. The stitching is such as not to prevent longitudinal stretching. The roll may be dispensed with and the rubber coating omitted from the bifurcated part.
