Abstract
327,246. Kohastam, J. Feb. 23, 1929. Electricity, supplying by time controlled apparatus; clockwork actuation.-In an apparatus for delivering electricity for a predetermined time a coin in passing from a chute 1 to a box 18 rocks a counterweighted lever 5 carrying a mercury switch 6 about its pivot 3 so as to close momentarily the circuit of an electromagnet 14 and thereby raises the weighted core 17 of the electromagnet. A stub 26 on the core 17 in its upward movement raises a lever 30 carrying a mercury switch 32 about its pivot 29 to close an electric circuit to a lighting system, toy railway or other apparatus to which current is to be suplied. When the lever 30 is in its top position it is engaged by a lever 40 operated by a spring 41 and the switch 32 is then maintained closed until the lever 40 is displaced by an adjustable stop 27 on the core 17 during its descent. The descent of the core is delayed by a clockwork mechanism 25 having a ratchet pinion 23 which is engaged by a pawl 24 on a lever 20 having pin-and-slot connection with the core.
