Abstract

327,116. Majima, T. Dec. 21, 1928. Cauldrons; surface treatment with liquid materials.- Apparatus for spraying molten asphalt comprises a portable frame 1, Fig. 1, on which is mounted a heating chamber 7 surmounted in turn by a tank 2 for molten asphalt, a second heating chamber 3, and a second tank to contain asphalt to be melted, the two tanks being connected by a pipe 5 fitted with a stopcock 13, the top of the tank 2 being connected with an air compressor and having one or more discharge orifices 9 connected with an electrically-heated conduit 10, Fig. 4, leading to the spraying nozzle 11. Each of the heating chambers is provided with an electric heater 6, 7. The conduit 10 comprises a flexible pipe surrounded by an electric heating resistance covered with flexible insulating material.
