Heating parts.-The flange portions 5 of the casing 1 of a steam turbine for operation at high temperatures are heated by passing hot fluid, e.g. high pressure steam, through a channel 9 in the region of the bolt holes 4. The heating steam may be cut off when the turbine is operating normally.
