Contents, delivering.-A box for containing and delivering cigarettes comprises a storage chamber 1 having a sloping bottom 3 with its front edge separated from the front wall 4 of the box by a feed slot 15 which allows one article only to fall through at a time into a movable delivery device 7 mounted below the slot, the delivery device having a groove 8 which normally lies below the feed slot and projecting, agitating and positioning members 12, which, when the device 7 is moved to deliver an article, move through slots 17 in the bottom 3 and enter the chamber 1 so as to agitate the articles therein and move a number towards the feed slot into which the members 12 do not enter. As shown the delivery device 7 is in the form of a rotatable roller and the members 12 carry stops 14 which, by engaging the bottom 3, limit the angular movement of the roller and prevent the member 12 from entering the feed slot 15; the parts 12, 14 are formed on a bent plate 16 fixed to the periphery of the roller 7. The delivery device may be slidable.
